Glacier country kayaks is a small locally owned and operated company full of BIG personalities!
Bronwyn, originally from Canada has been kayaking for many years including multi-week trips around Vancouver Island. While guiding over a summer period, Bronwyn paddled into Dale.
Dale has been a guide for over 9 years with over 6 years guiding on the Franz Josef Glacier alone, and seasons sea kayak guiding in both Canada and Stewart Island, NZ with Bronwyn.
Together Bronwyn and Dale (and dog Tui), have built Glacier Country kayaks up, to become recognised as a MUST-DO activity in the region, and have held #1 on trip advisor for activities here in Franz Josef!
Glacier Country Kayaks is teamed awesome crew! With a wealth of knowledge and experience that they love sharing with all coming visitors to the area.
With a passion for the environment our sustainable tours are conservation orientated. Lake Mapourika is situated in the Westland National park and backs onto the Okarito Kiwi Sanctuary, home to the Rowi (the rarest kiwi in the world!). A portion of all trips going towards the ongoing conservation of the national park.
We aim to complete your Glacier Country experience by taking you further into the Westland National Park; exploring the narrow estuaries of a Kiwi Conservation Area and gaining knowledge on Westland’s unique geography and glaciers.
