Rain, Internet Bus, Internet access and Free Digital photos
Sometimes we get a bit of rain in the region. For all those frightened of melting in the rain (only applies to wicked witches) you can spend all day in our cosy comfy 1957 Bedford Internet Bus.
Originally used in the 70s for hiking tour transfers to the glacier base, in the 80s it became a fishing and camping bus (booze bus) for a bunch of local lads, before they sold it to us.
We initially used it as our holiday home accommodation and then storage, but we really wanted to showcase the bus as part of our heritage of travel into this remote section of New Zealand.
We converted this transport relic into our cyber café, which makes it a focal point in the village and easier to find us off the state highway.
We have the technology side of things covered too. We run Red Hat Linux as a stable server and dual load-balanced ADSL connections to speed things up and minimise downtime.

Its just so much easier if we collect the photos and give them to you afterward.
We paddle on a wonderful lake sheltered from the wind, particularly in the morning and the water is like a mirror, we are able to get into position and collect fantastic photos of you in action with the backdrops, ( of course we collect photos of the scenery without people in them as well), and give them to you afterward. Due to the climate setting we have, our evening tour (sunset) is highly regarded, and the photos we are able to collect is an array of the many moods and light transitions as the day comes to a close.
We could sit around for hours editing the Photos we collect and give to you… the purists would choke!
Modern technology allows us to give you a wonderful record of your visit to this region, we record how it is that day, and no computer enhancement is done to the photos of your experience, a quality record of a pristine National Park with you in it.
Of course if you want to change, edit or otherwise enhance the photos when you get them home, it's your choice.
Our CD-ROM's to carry your memories home have a 20-year warranty, and also contain a collection of photos from all the sections of the National Park from days with other memorable conditions.
The "Alpine" section features the snowfields and mountain peaks of the area
The "River valley Glacier" section features formations and climatic events on the Franz and Fox Glaciers
And the "Coastal" section contains photos of the Lakes, rainforest and Beach areas of the Glacier valley
